The Murcian holding company acquires the Toledo-based company Nutrave, specialised in chicken and hen, and retains the entire workforce. The three founding families will remain shareholders during the transition.
The Grupo Fuertes has completed the purchase of Nutrave, a poultry company based in Bargas (Toledo) dedicated to the production, processing, and marketing of chicken and hen meat. The operation, reported by business-people.es, expands the Murcian holding's presence in the food sector and fits into its strategy of vertical integration, as confirmed by the group.
Nutrave covers the entire chain: from the manufacturing of its own feed and incubation to the butchering and distribution of birds and processed products. This model of controlling the various production phases is what Grupo Fuertes has been applying in its agri-food businesses.
The operation includes two specific commitments. On one hand, the three founding families of Nutrave will remain shareholders and will accompany the Fuertes family during the transition. On the other hand, the group retains the entire workforce of the Toledo company.
«The continuity of the former owners and the workforce is part of the announced conditions for the integration»
With this acquisition, Grupo Fuertes expands its presence in the Spanish poultry business in a context of market concentration in the national chicken sector, where international operators and investors have been taking stakes in companies in the sector.
This is not the first operation of the year. Throughout 2026, the holding has already acquired the Albacete companies Tolvasa and Paasa, also in the poultry sector. The corporation, based in Alhama de Murcia, thus adds three purchases in the sector so far this year and maintains its commitment to Spanish family-owned companies.
The integration of Nutrave takes place with the workforce and the founders already confirmed in the new shareholding, without the group having detailed the amount of the operation or a specific timeline to complete the transition.
