Nearly 100 students from 42 Madrid Fundación Telefónica have completed the first seven levels of training. The foundation claims that 100% of the cohort is ready to enter the tech job market.
Nearly 100 students from 42 Madrid Fundación Telefónica celebrated their graduation after passing the first seven levels of learning, known as Common Core. According to Europa Press, the ceremony took place in Madrid and the training opens the door to specialisation in cybersecurity, quantum computing, and generative AI.
The foundation asserts that 100% of the cohort is already prepared to enter the tech job market. It attributes this result to training that combines advanced technical knowledge with skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability.
The methodology of 42 is free, practical, and does not involve traditional classes or teachers. It is based on peer-to-peer learning and, according to the foundation, has developed in students competencies such as autonomy, creativity, collaboration, and tolerance for frustration.
During the ceremony, Álvaro Cerezo, a student from the 2026 cohort, explained the value of this model:
“You are the one who has to bring out the best in yourself and get used to failure. Learning to learn is undoubtedly the most valuable skill here.”
Since 42 Madrid started in 2019, around 300 students have reached this educational milestone. According to the Impact Report 2026, prepared by the French consultancy Utopies, 85% of students have made significant personal or professional connections during their training, and 96% are already working in the tech sector.
