Tres Cantos registered 1,427 unemployed people in September, 23 fewer than in August, and maintains the unemployment rate at 3.87%, the lowest among the main municipalities in northern Madrid.

Tres Cantos closed September with 1,427 unemployed people and an unemployment rate of 3.87%, according to the latest data from the Labour Market Statistics of the Community of Madrid, collected by the City Council. This figure represents 23 fewer unemployed than in August, when there were 1,450, which indicates a monthly reduction of 1.59%.

The municipality thus keeps its unemployment rate below 4% and ranks as the lowest among the main municipalities in the northern area of Madrid, according to information published by pressnorte.com.

By age, people over 44 years old account for the majority of registered unemployment: 888 people, or 62.23% of the total. Among those aged 25 to 44, there are 458 unemployed (32.10%), while those under 25 total 81 people, or 5.68% of the total.

The weight of youth unemployment in Tres Cantos is below the figures for the Community of Madrid, where it reaches 7.34%, and the national average, which stands at 7.95%.

By sectors of activity, Services account for the majority of unemployed people: 1,284 people, or 89.98% of the total. Industry has 55 unemployed (3.85%), while Construction records 37 people (2.59%) and Agriculture accounts for six unemployed (0.42%).

In terms of gender, September ended with 852 unemployed women, representing 59.71% of the total, compared to 575 men, who account for 40.29%. The distribution remains practically stable compared to the previous month.

The Department of Economic Development and Employment indicates that it maintains training, guidance, and professional development programs, along with initiatives related to entrepreneurship and the local business fabric. Among these actions is Punto Cámara-Tres Cantos, developed in collaboration with the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid, which offers specialized advice, training, and mentoring for business projects.
