The Ibex 35 has begun this Wednesday's session with a rise of 0.59%, allowing it to reach 19,632.4 points and surpass the 19,500 mark maintained on Tuesday. European markets are also opening positively: Milan is up 0.5%, Frankfurt and London 0.7%, and Paris 0.3%.
Investor attention is focused on the Middle East. Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, has stated that Tehran is awaiting an official response from Washington to its "seven-point plan" for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, according to elperiodico.com. The proposal was conveyed to the US side through the Qatari mediator.

Araqchi specified that a representative from Qatar met with the Iranian delegation on Tuesday and is confident that the definitive response from the United States will arrive before Wednesday through that same channel. The minister emphasized that the conditions set by the supreme leader for the reopening of the strait are "completely fair and reasonable."
In the energy market, the price of Brent oil, the European benchmark, rose 0.6% at the opening of European stock exchanges, reaching $103.2 per barrel. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, the US benchmark, increased by 0.3%, to $89.6 per barrel.
In the Spanish macroeconomic sphere, the Statistical Information Centre of Notaries (CIEN) has reported that home sales fell 11.1% in July 2026, to 65,395 units, marking seven consecutive months of year-on-year declines. The average price per square meter rose 7.7%, to €2,112/m2.
