Google incorporates a page for small businesses into the Gemini application that brings together branding, finance, and customer data. The company has not indicated in which countries or languages it will be available.
According to ecosistemastartup.com, Google has added a fixed page to the Gemini application designed for small businesses. The announcement, made on October 20 by Vishnu Sivaji, senior director of the application, indicates that the rollout will begin in the coming days and will reach all users, although it does not specify countries.
The page functions as a unique space from which to manage the business's image, review finances, and consult customer information without switching applications. It includes four new features:
Gemini can connect to Google Ads, Google Workspace, Business Profile, Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho, and Xero. Additionally, the user can upload their website, brand kit, fonts, and colour palettes, and the image tool retains that style so that the guidelines do not need to be reloaded each time. In the financial realm, Gemini converts spreadsheets, receipts, and purchase records into interactive charts and models.
The announcement does not mention countries, languages, plans, or prices. It also does not include exclusions, something that was noted in a previous release of the same roadmap: on June 10, the integration with the Business Profile was rolled out without the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Google has not clarified whether that restriction remains for the new page.
Before having this feature, it is important to consider the type of account. In personal Gemini accounts, conversations may be subject to human review and chats reviewed by providers can be retained for up to three years, even after activity is deleted. With activity disabled, Google retains chats for 72 hours. According to the published information, customer data from Google Workspace is not used to train generative models without the customer's permission, a protection that is not the same in the consumer app.
Connecting a tool does not equate to granting total permission: app connections do not automatically authorise Gemini to modify business records or launch advertising campaigns. The announcement also does not detail the permissions for each connector. To find out if the page is already available in Spain, the business owner can open the application and check directly.
