The Tax Agency will start payments of direct aid to companies and self-employed workers in Ceuta on Tuesday, October 6. Self-employed workers will receive 5,000 euros and companies between 10,000 and 150,000 euros depending on their turnover.

The Tax Agency will begin to pay out the direct aid approved by the Government for companies and self-employed workers in Ceuta, as published by La Razón. These subsidies aim to alleviate the economic consequences arising from the massive influx of migrants recorded at the end of July in the autonomous city.

The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, reported last Wednesday that more than 1,200 companies and self-employed workers in Ceuta have already submitted their applications to receive this aid.

The Council of Ministers approved a royal decree-law at the beginning of September with urgent social and economic measures for Ceuta, which includes 309 million euros until the end of 2026. This package includes support for essential services, security, care for minors, and humanitarian assistance, in addition to assistance for companies and workers.

Within that total amount, 80 million euros were allocated to direct aid and other forms of support for companies and workers. Specifically, a fund of 36.6 million euros was established, managed by the Tax Agency, from which self-employed workers can receive 5,000 euros and companies between 10,000 and 150,000 euros depending on their turnover.

This measure could benefit 2,500 self-employed workers and 1,500 companies. Applications have been open since September 14 through the Tax Agency's website, with the aim of starting payments in early October.

To receive the payment, interested parties only need to provide a bank account number where the aid can be deposited. These subsidies are tax-exempt and cannot be seized.

In addition to the 36.6 million, 16 million euros are allocated to support commerce, tourism, hospitality, and the internationalisation of companies in Ceuta. Furthermore, to enhance access to financing, the royal decree-law launches a line of guarantees on behalf of the State amounting to 50 million euros, managed by the ICO.

In terms of taxation, the permanent reduction of the Corporate Tax from 50% to 60% is raised for companies residing in Ceuta and Melilla, as well as for those maintaining activity and jobs in the autonomous cities. Self-employed workers will benefit from better conditions in their taxation under the IRPF, with greater possibilities to deduct provisions and hard-to-justify expenses. This measure represents a saving of 12 million euros annually per city.
