The ISO certification and compliance company Complaion has closed a €13.5 million round led by Eurazeo and Italian Founders Fund. Founded in 2024, the company already operates in Spain with over 80 clients and is preparing to open an office in Madrid.
The company, specialised in ISO certifications and regulatory compliance for SMEs, Complaion, has closed a funding round of €13.5 million with the aim of accelerating its international expansion and continuing to develop its technological platform, as reported by pressdigital.es.
The operation has been led by the funds Eurazeo and Italian Founders Fund (IFF) and has included participation from international firms such as Shapers, 2100 Ventures, Kfund, Sella Direct Ventures, and Enzo Ventures. Vehicles linked to European family businesses have also participated in the round, including Vento, Ithaca, Eden Ventures, and Vesper.
Founded in 2024 by Edoardo Tarricone (CEO), Marco Cortinovis (COO), and Alessandro Vaccarino (CTO), the company currently has a team of over 40 professionals and serves more than 900 clients in over ten markets. To date, it has participated in over 1,000 audits, combining its technological platform with a team of certified auditors, achieving a 100% success rate in the managed processes.
The new resources will be allocated to expanding the team with specialised professionals, enhancing customer service, continuing platform development, and accelerating international implementation. Although Italy, the second largest global market for ISO certifications, remains its primary market, the firm has recently begun its expansion into Spain, its first international market within its growth strategy in Europe.
In the Spanish market, Complaion already has over 80 clients and is preparing to open an office in Madrid to boost its national growth. The company's technological proposal allows for the automation of up to 80% of the more manual tasks associated with these processes, reducing the time required to obtain a certification by up to five times.
Its services are particularly aimed at SMEs that need ISO certifications to participate in public tenders or become approved suppliers for large companies, a segment that the company estimates at around one million SMEs with associated business opportunities of two trillion euros. The entity operates with companies in sectors such as industry, health, construction, logistics, professional services, food, technology, and software, and among its clients are firms like Pelliconi, Kia Italia, Mastech, Lexroom, and Croce Blu.
The ultimate goal of Complaion is to progressively expand its offering to become a comprehensive provider of compliance services for European SMEs, in a market driven by increasing regulatory obligations and the need to demonstrate compliance with various standards.
