Algebris Green Transition Fund has acquired 100% of Vector Renewables, a Madrid-based technical and legal advisory company in renewables, from Nadara. This is the fund's first international operation, which manages €36 billion.
The private equity fund Algebris Green Transition Fund, a vehicle of Algebris Investments specialised in energy transition, has completed the purchase of 100% of Vector Renewables from Nadara, the company's previous shareholder. According to elperiodicodelaenergia.com, this operation represents the fund's first international acquisition and introduces a new partner to the Madrid-based technical, legal, and renewable asset management advisory company.
Vector Renewables is entering a new phase with the aim of expanding its international presence, strengthening its specialised service offerings, and consolidating its position in technologies related to energy transition. The fund plans to work alongside the management team to drive new expansion opportunities in both existing markets and other countries.
The company, headquartered in Madrid, has over 20 years of experience. Since 2005, it has provided services throughout the entire lifecycle of solar, wind, storage, and hybrid projects, operating in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, with experience in over 60 countries.
In terms of figures, Vector has participated as a technical advisor in projects totalling more than 275 GW of capacity, while its legal advisory has been linked to over 30 GW. Additionally, it currently manages more than 6 GW of renewable assets.
One of its technological assets is NUO, a proprietary cloud-based digital platform for managing renewable assets. The tool incorporates automation, data analysis, and real-time monitoring to optimise the technical and financial performance of installations.
This operation comes at a time of increasing demand for specialised services around new energy technologies. Algebris highlights Vector's expertise in battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid projects, two segments gaining traction in renewable development.
"Vector has built a global platform with deep expertise in renewable energy and significant momentum to develop new technologies like BESS and hybrid systems," stated Matteo Tarchi, Senior Partner of Algebris Green Transition Fund.
From the fund, they point to the potential to expand Vector's capabilities and accelerate its growth in both existing markets and new destinations. Francesco Becchelli, also a Senior Partner, indicated that Algebris will provide strategic support to the management team during this phase of international expansion.
For Vector Renewables, this operation opens a new chapter coinciding with the company's 20th anniversary. Its CEO, Marco Guarneroli, highlighted that the entry of the new shareholder will allow the company to continue developing emerging technologies and enhance the value it offers to its international clients.
The acquisition constitutes the first international operation of the Algebris Green Transition Fund, which closed its fund in July 2024. Algebris Investments, founded in 2006, manages approximately €36 billion in assets and has over 175 professionals spread across offices in London, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Dublin, Boston, Singapore, and Tokyo.
Following the operation, Vector Renewables will continue to develop its technical advisory, asset management, and legal advisory activities for investors, financial entities, developers, independent producers, and owners of renewable assets, leveraging its digital platform NUO.
Nadara, for its part, has over 4.3 GW of installed renewable capacity in Europe and the United States, spread across around 200 assets of onshore wind, solar, biomass, and storage, in addition to a project portfolio of approximately 18 GW.
