BBVA Japan Securities Limited will distribute structured credit and investment solutions from Mexico, the United States, and Spain to Japanese institutional investors, with a regulated interlocutor in their own market.

BBVA has obtained registration from the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA) and the Kanto Local Finance Bureau (KLFB) to operate as a 'Type I Financial Instruments Business' in the Asian country. The authorization was granted on August 31, and on September 30, the new company joined the Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA), according to bbva.com.

The entity, named BBVA Japan Securities Limited, has a specialized business model: to be the access point for Japanese institutional investors to the bank's global platform. It will distribute structured credit products and investment solutions from markets where BBVA has a significant presence, such as Mexico, the United States, and Spain.

Until now, accessing the group's international products required contacting BBVA teams outside Japan. With the new company, Japanese institutional investors will have an expert, regulated interlocutor based in their own market, allowing them to diversify their portfolios without leaving their usual financial ecosystem.

This authorization will create a high-value-added bridge between Japanese capital and our global product platform.

This is explained by Yuko Kamiya, president and representative director of BBVA Japan Securities Limited. Kamiya adds that the goal is to facilitate operations for institutional clients to access investment solutions in America and Europe with the agility and proximity of a local presence.

The operation strengthens the international distribution capacity of BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and consolidates the group's presence in Asia. Japan occupies a strategic position for the bank due to the depth of its financial markets and the weight of its large corporations in global investment flows.
