The sustainable fashion brand Ecoalf has opened a store on Rambla de Catalunya in Barcelona, reaching 14 stores in Spain. The company has already identified A Coruña as its next expansion target, although no date or location has been confirmed.

Ecoalf has opened a new store on Rambla de Catalunya in Barcelona, its third establishment in the Catalan capital. With this opening, the company now has 14 stores in the Spanish market, a figure that also includes sales points located in airports. The inauguration comes after the recent opening of another location in Valencia, according to business-people.es.

The company has not disclosed the investment made in the new establishment, the number of associated jobs, or sales forecasts. It has also not detailed the total commercial area of the store. The store adds to a network that combines urban establishments with spaces in airports.

The physical channel has gained importance in Ecoalf's business in recent years. In 2023, retail accounted for 27% of the company's sales. By the end of 2025, its contribution had increased to 40%. This percentage reflects its share of total revenue, not an exact 13% growth in physical sales. The rest of the income comes from other channels, although the company has not broken down the distribution between e-commerce, wholesale, or other avenues.

Ecoalf closed 2025 with the highest turnover in its history: a revenue of 64.8 million euros. Its gross operating profit (Ebitda) stood at 5.36 million euros during that same period. This indicator reflects the performance of the activity before deducting interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, so it does not equate to net profit. The information released does not include the final result of the year or a comparison with the previous year.

The most distinctive feature of the Barcelona establishment lies in its interior architecture. The store incorporates 500 square meters of salt fabrics, developed during a cultivation process that has lasted for a year. More than 1,000 kilos of sea salt from the salt flats of Cádiz have been used in its manufacture. The project has been developed in collaboration with the CHS+R Architects studio and architect Carlos Montes. The company has not specified what percentage of the overall establishment these fabrics represent nor quantified the reduction in environmental impact achieved.

“Salt, one of the most abundant natural resources on the planet, allowed us to create a concept that unites architecture, design, art, and innovation,” said Javier Goyeneche, founder and president of Ecoalf.

Following the openings in Valencia and Barcelona, Ecoalf has identified A Coruña as one of its next growth targets in Spain. The company has yet to announce a specific location, an opening date, or the signing of a contract to establish itself in the Galician city. The arrival in Galicia is part of its expansion plans, but it cannot yet be considered a confirmed opening.

With the new establishment, Ecoalf reaches 14 stores in Spain and strengthens Barcelona as one of its main commercial hubs. The company has not presented specific economic targets for 2026.
