Iberdrola has surpassed 97,000 charging points for electric vehicles installed in Spain. The company claims to install more than 100 chargers a day.

The electricity company Iberdrola has exceeded 97,000 charging points for electric vehicles installed in Spain, according to El Periódico. Of these, over 85,000 are private, in homes and businesses, and more than 12,000 are publicly accessible.

The company indicates that it installs more than 100 chargers a day: over 2,000 a month in homes, nearly 100 in businesses, and more than 200 in public spaces. The rollout coincides with the advancement of electric mobility in the country.

Iberdrola uses data from the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) to point out that in September, a record number of plug-in vehicle sales was registered, with four out of ten cars registered being of this type.

The company attributes the growth to the volatility of fossil fuel prices, the economic competitiveness of electric cars, and the increased availability of more affordable models. According to the company, some new models achieve ranges of up to 700 kilometres, although the actual distance depends on the vehicle and driving conditions.

In its public network, Iberdrola claims to have a share of over 20% of the charging points in the country. According to its data, these facilities record more than 10,000 daily charges and accumulate over three million operations so far in 2026.

The growth also generates activity in the installation companies. The company works with over 100 companies in the sector and employs more than 1,000 professionals in these tasks, in areas such as electrical installation, maintenance, and services related to mobility.
