The Xunta grants the administrative construction authorisation to Inditex Renovables SLU for three wind turbines in the outer port of A Coruña. The company will have three years to execute the installation and must deposit an environmental bond of €380,362.
The Ministry of Environment of the Xunta published this Friday in the Official Journal of Galicia the administrative construction authorisation for the wind farm that Inditex Renovables SLU is promoting in the outer port of Langosteira, in A Coruña. According to the announcement, the installation will have a period of three years to be executed and put into operation.
The project, presented in 2021, includes three wind turbines with a maximum height of 200 metres (115 to the hub and 85 for the blade) and a maximum power of 19.8 megawatts, limited to 18. The estimated investment amounts to €34 million, according to the company's annual report. The authorisation comes after it received a favourable environmental impact declaration last December, as reported by elidealgallego.com.
The resolution establishes that the company based in Arteixo must deposit an environmental bond totalling €380,362: €163,012 for the construction phase and €217,350 for the dismantling phase. One month before the start of the works, Inditex must submit the Environmental Monitoring and Follow-up Plan to the Monitoring Service and Technical Office of the General Secretariat of Industry and Energy Development of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
The permit also warns that the company will have "a period of three years", starting from the notification of the construction permit, to request "the corresponding operating authorisation". "In case of non-compliance, the aforementioned authorisations may be revoked," states the Xunta.
The park will be located in the outer port of Langosteira and its aim is to supply renewable electricity to the Inditex headquarters in Arteixo, as well as to the port infrastructures. The company describes the initiative as a "notable self-consumption project" that will be carried out "in collaboration with the Port Authority of A Coruña."
The administrative processing has taken longer than expected: the company estimated that the installation would already be operational by 2026, but the environmental authorisation has been delayed. With this permit, Inditex now has all the regional guarantees to begin the works.
