JustWatch, the guide used by 50 million people, has launched JustWatch TV, a service with a free ad-supported plan and an ad-free subscription from US$3.99 per month. It arrives in 12 markets, including Spain.

According to ecosistemastartup.com, JustWatch, the guide that 50 million people use to find out where to watch each movie, has launched its own streaming service. JustWatch TV started on Tuesday with 30 content partners, a free ad-supported plan, and an ad-free subscription from US$3.99 per month.

The company JustWatch Group announced the project in September during the content market at the Toronto festival, as reported by Playback. Since then, it has added Cineverse, LEONINE Studios, SND, and Altitude, joining Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, and Vortex Media.

The service operates within the app and website that the company already runs, with no need to download anything new. JustWatch TV Free offers a selection of titles with ads. JustWatch TV Plus includes over 300 ad-free titles in the United States, advanced filters, and the option to hide what has already been watched. JustWatch TV Store allows renting movies in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The paid plan costs US$3.99 per month or US$49.99 for a lifetime subscription, and provides a 10% discount on hundreds of rentals. The launch covers 12 markets, including Spain.

JustWatch started as a search engine in 2014, based in Berlin. According to Deadline, it operates a guide in 140 markets with over 500,000 movies and series and 1,500 streaming providers, and its staff exceeds 200 employees, with offices in Madrid, London, Paris, and other cities.

David Croyé, founder and CEO of the group, commented in statements reported by TheWrap:

“The launch of JustWatch TV marks the most significant development in the twelve-year history of our company, and it is just the beginning.”

The service is already available in Spain through the JustWatch app and website.
