Mapfre will be the insurer for the XI edition of Hospitality Day, with the main event taking place on October 14 at the Autocine in Madrid. The company is also launching an interactive game at seven Makro centres.

The insurer Mapfre will be present at the XI edition of Hospitality Day, as reported by Diario de Sevilla. The main event of the day will take place on October 14 at the Autocine in Madrid, an outdoor space where hundreds of professionals, institutions, and companies from the sector will gather, and where the company will have brand presence throughout the venue.

The event is organised by the hospitality distributor Makro, which recognises the activity of restaurants, cafes, and catering companies, both large and small, as well as their workers. Mapfre acts as the insurer for the day.

At the same time, the insurer has prepared an interactive game with the agency Aplus Gastromarketing featuring questions about hospitality. To participate, one must scan the QR codes located in the offices that Mapfre has in seven Makro centres: Alcobendas, Barajas, Leganés, Palma, Elche, Murcia, and Valencia. Winners will be able to access exclusive prizes that will be handed out at the centre itself.

As explained by José Luis Iranzo, director of the Corporate Business area of Mapfre Spain:

“It is an extraordinary opportunity to highlight and applaud the efforts of a sector that is the soul of our economy, our culture, and our daily lives.”

Mapfre has over 75,000 clients in the Horeca sector. According to data collected by the company, the number of hospitality establishments has grown by 6% since the last figure recorded in 2021, and projections indicate an additional increase of 7% by 2028. For this segment, the insurer offers civil liability coverage and legal defence, loss of profits, protection against cyber risks, 24-hour assistance, and premises surveillance, among others. The Hospitality Solutions Manual, developed together with Makro, outlines the risks and solutions from both entities.

Mapfre is the leading Spanish insurer globally. In Spain, it has 7.2 million clients, around 11,000 employees, and 3,200 offices. In 2025, its premiums in Spain grew by 11.1%, reaching €9.622 billion, and its net profit reached €436 million, a 24.5% increase compared to the previous year.
