Servinform has announced a redundancy plan that will affect around 380 employees, 10% of its workforce in Spain, after ending contracts with Endesa.
According to El Español, Servinform SAU, a technology solutions company, has announced a redundancy plan that will affect around 380 workers, 10% of its workforce in Spain. The company has its main offices in Sevilla, where its headquarters are located, Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Valencia, as well as offices in Málaga.
The company employs 3,800 workers in Spain and around 6,000 when including its operations in Portugal and Colombia, which are initially excluded from the redundancy plan, along with other companies in the group. The adjustment is due to the recent termination of contracts with Endesa, one of its main clients.
Of the total affected, the redundancy plan focuses on positions linked to projects that are closing or have been completed, and a small group of around 20 workers due to the reduction of other services. The company states that it has made the decision in a "very thoughtful" manner to protect as many jobs as possible.
More than 300 professionals who worked on services for Endesa have been relocated to one of the new contractors or reassigned within the company. Meanwhile, the majority of the nearly 300 remaining people will continue to perform their duties normally until December 31.
In cases where activity is reduced, Servinform has activated a training plan with specific training, 100% paid, to facilitate relocation. The company justifies this in the following terms:
"To ensure the competitiveness of the company and the continuity of the thousands of jobs that are maintained."
The company maintains four contracts with Endesa and has secured work with renewals from Leroy Merlin, Canal de Isabel II, 010 de Sevilla, and Emasesa. It has also opened new lines, such as the Catalonia citizen assistance phone line.
In the coming weeks, a negotiating table will be established with the legal representation of the workers (RLT), marking the start of the formal negotiation period to define the final impact. The company notes that this process does not alter its operations.
