The daily Euribor rate drops to 3.177% this Tuesday, 0.009 points lower than Monday. The monthly average for October stands at 3.271%.

The Euribor closed the day on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 3.177% for its daily rate, which represents a decrease of 0.009 points compared to the previous day, according to elmundo.es. With this movement, the indicator continues its downward trend.

The monthly average for October is at 3.271%, a level that will determine the revision of variable mortgages signed this month. In September, that same average was 3.238%, so the indicator remains within a narrow range.

The Euribor is the interest rate at which major banks in the eurozone lend money to each other. In Spain, it serves as a reference for setting the interest on numerous financial products, especially variable rate mortgages. When the indicator rises, monthly payments become more expensive; when it falls, they become cheaper.

The daily calculation is published from Monday to Friday at 11:00 AM and is announced in the Official State Bulletin. For mortgages, what matters is the average for the entire month, not the rate for a specific day.

The evolution of the last few days shows fluctuations: on October 5, the Euribor marked 3.271%; on October 2, 3.323%; on October 1, 3.303%; on September 30, 3.329%; on September 29, 3.356%; on September 25, 3.379%; and on September 23, 3.331%.

The year-on-year comparison reflects a sustained upward trend since summer. In August 2026, the average was 2.954%; in July, 2.855%; in June, 2.798%; and in May, 2.804%. A year earlier, in October 2025, the indicator was at 2.187%.

For holders of a variable mortgage, the figure that applies in the revision is the average for the month in which the loan is updated. Checking the daily value helps to anticipate where that average will move, but it does not solely determine the payment.
