The Ministry of Finance of El Salvador processes the LPG subsidy for homes, food businesses, schools, and NGOs. The application is free and in-person, with resolution deadlines of up to nine months for homes and businesses.

Homes, subsistence businesses dedicated to food preparation, schools, and non-profit organizations in El Salvador can apply for the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) subsidy through the General Directorate of Subsidies (DGS) of the Ministry of Finance. The process is free of charge and is conducted in person at the Citizen Attention Windows, as reported by elsalvador.com.

For domestic use, the applicant must present a legible Unique Identity Document (DUI), the most recent electricity bill for the residence, if they have the service, and the DUI number of the household members. If any member is already receiving the subsidy, the process is blocked until that person signs the Act of voluntary resignation from the LPG subsidy. If they cannot attend, a legal document is required: a death certificate in case of death or a notarial document in other circumstances.

Subsistence businesses that prepare food must provide the owner's DUI, a photocopy of the electricity bill for the home and the business, if available, and the DUI number of the household members, along with the application form.

Schools, Child Welfare Centres (CBI), Early Childhood Care Centres (CAPI), and similar entities must be accredited in the school feeding and health program of the Ministry of Education and use LPG for cooking. They must also present the DUI of the designated responsible person, a copy of the legal personality document, the point of act that certifies the appointment, and the address of the institution. For changes of responsible person in CBI and CAPI, the Institute for Growing Together sends the request to the DGS with a photocopy of the DUI of the new responsible person and the update form.

NGOs need the document from the Ministry of the Interior that certifies their status as a non-profit organization, the DUI of the person responsible for collecting the subsidy, the point of act of the appointment, the address of the entity, and confirmation that they use LPG for cooking.

Attention at the DGS windows is from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The maximum resolution deadline is nine months for homes and businesses, counted from the day after the application is submitted, according to Article 89 of the Administrative Procedures Law. For schools and NGOs, the response time is up to 30 calendar days.

"The application must be submitted to the General Directorate of Subsidies, along with the corresponding form," states the Ministry of Finance.

For inquiries about requirements, forms, and procedures, the DGS has a call center at 2237-3333, WhatsApp 7072-2484, and email atencion.subsidios@mh.gob.sv. Among the available documents is the Authorization Note to Provide Socioeconomic Information of the Household and the application forms for each category.
