Iberdrola closes the session with €138.331 billion in capitalisation and reclaims third place in the Ibex 35 from BBVA, which it lost in August. BBVA falls by 4.03% on a bleak day for banking.
Iberdrola has regained the third position by market capitalisation in the Ibex 35 after closing this Thursday's session with €138.331 billion, according to forbes.es. The energy company returns to a position it lost last August, after recording a rise of 0.58% that left its share price at €20.73.
The overtaking occurred on a day of significant declines for Spanish banking and for most of the selective values, which closed down 2.17% due to global debt pressure. In this context, BBVA fell 4.03%, to €23.81 per share and a capitalisation of €131.193 billion.
The shares of Iberdrola have accumulated a revaluation of 12.30% so far in 2026 and 27.46% in the last year. BBVA's shares, despite the correction in this session, are up 18.75% for the year and 51.51% over twelve months.
There are no changes at the top of the table. Banco Santander maintains its lead with a capitalisation of €171.906 billion and a price of €11.81 per share. It is followed by Inditex, with €165.334 billion in capitalisation and €53.06 per share.
The consensus of analysts compiled by Bloomberg places the average target price for Iberdrola at €21.06. Of these, 60% recommend holding the stock, 36.7% opt to buy, and 3.3% suggest selling.
