The Concello of Pontevedra updates the parking fees for the Audiencia and Praza de España in line with the CPI increase. The rise will be 3.2% and 2.3%, respectively.

The Xunta de Goberno of the Concello de Pontevedra has approved the update of the fees for two public car parks in the city, as published by diariodepontevedra.es. The affected parks are those at Audiencia and Praza de España, and in both cases, the increase corresponds to the variation of the CPI for the reference period.

In the Praza de España parking, the hourly rate will rise from 1.9218 euros to 1.966 euros, representing a 2.3% increase, equivalent to the CPI between February 2025 and February 2026. The new price will come into effect on 1 January 2027.

In the Audiencia parking, the increase will be 3.2%, corresponding to the CPI between March 2025 and March 2026. The hourly cost will rise from 1.4384 euros to 1.844 euros. In this case, the implementation will be immediate.

The mayor, Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores, explained that these updates are part of the usual price review mechanism linked to the general consumer price index.

"It is commendable that the commitment is maintained and that companies make an effort to ensure that projects can continue, assuming the risks and fortunes that this entails"

Regarding public works, Lores highlighted that Pontevedra is maintaining all its projects without delays, in a context marked by rising material and fuel costs and a shortage of skilled labour in construction. To address specific difficulties, the Xunta de Goberno has approved two extensions: in rúa Luís Seoane, two more months are granted to Construcciones Vale, with a new deadline of 8 December; and for the rainwater drainage and paving in Outeiro (Lérez), awarded to Construcciones E.C. Casas, an additional 15 days are added, with completion on 20 October.

Additionally, the Concello has formalised the awarding of the comprehensive reform of the park on rúa Luís Otero, in the O Burgo neighbourhood, to the company Zona de obra O Rosal for 408,600 euros (compared to the 450,000 euros tender), with an execution period of six months.

The Xunta de Goberno has also approved an institutional agreement of congratulations and gratitude to the groups involved in the Grand Final of the World Triathlon Series, including the municipal services of Sports, Local Police, Civil Protection, central services, and operational brigades, as well as the concessionary companies and volunteers. The work of the brigades was highlighted, who supervised the cobblestones of the circuits before each race to prevent accidents.

Finally, due to the supply works for the Novo Montecelo hospital, Montecelo Avenue will remain closed to traffic from 9:30 am on Monday 5 October until Wednesday 7 October. Only access, marked in blue, will be allowed to the Cidade Infantil Príncipe Felipe and to CIFP Carlos Oroza and Montecelo.
