In this context, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has stated from the Oval Office that "the time is approaching" to make a definitive decision regarding Iran. The president suggested that his administration might opt for a deal to end the conflict or "perhaps blow them up," and assured that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will conclude "very soon one way or another."

"Maybe we’ll blow them up. We have to make that decision. We’ll blow them up or make a deal, but the time is approaching"

When asked how to achieve a pact with a counterpart he described as "crazy" and "irrational," Trump responded with those words. His statements have contributed to maintaining volatility in energy markets.
