The Junta de Extremadura allocates nearly one million euros in the 2027 budget to address unfavourable rulings regarding the stabilisation of public employment. This is a provision, not payments already made.

The Junta de Extremadura has reserved nearly one million euros in the 2027 budget project to meet financial obligations arising from unfavourable rulings, particularly those linked to the stabilisation processes of public employment. This was explained by the general secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Public Administration and Social Dialogue, Inmaculada Núñez Arroyo, during her appearance in the Assembly to detail the department's accounts, as reported by El Periódico Extremadura.

The forecast is included in the legal and contentious expenses item. According to the official, its aim is to "constitute a financial provision" to cover judicial resolutions against the Administration, "mainly all of them confined to the stabilisation processes".

The stabilisation processes aim to reduce temporary employment in public administrations and permanently fill positions that have been occupied for years by temporary staff. The Law 20/2021 provides for competitive examinations and, exceptionally, merit-based competitions for certain positions. Successfully completing the process remains necessary, as it does not automatically convert interim workers into permanent civil servants.

Behind the litigations are workers claiming compensation for their dismissal or for the damages caused by prolonged temporary employment. The union USO has reported four recent favourable rulings, with compensations exceeding 84,000 euros in total. Among them is a ruling from a social court in Badajoz declaring the dismissal of a non-fixed indefinite worker as unjustified and setting a compensation of 51,510.63 euros. The ruling is appealable to the High Court of Justice of Extremadura.

The reserved amount does not equate to already recognised payments, as the item is described as a provision for obligations that may arise. The speaker did not specify the breakdown of pending procedures.
