Housing prices in Ronda have risen by 21.3%, about 8 points above the provincial average, according to Socialist councillor Juan Carlos González. The councillor demands measures from the three administrations responsible for governance.

The councillor of the Socialist Municipal Group of Ronda, Juan Carlos González, stated that the increase in housing prices in the locality is 21.3%, around 8 points higher than the provincial average. He presented this on Wednesday according to what is published by Andalucía Información, and his complaint covers both buying and renting.

The councillor described the figure as "very concerning" and focused on the families who must pay these prices:

"behind this increase are people who see how accessing housing becomes increasingly difficult, while prices move further away from what their incomes can afford"

González questioned what the administrations with government responsibilities are doing: the Government of Spain, the Junta de Andalucía, and the town halls. Regarding the central government, he recalled that it has been eight years approving measures to facilitate access to housing, and mentioned the new decree laws, which were repealed in Congress and reapproved in the Council of Ministers.

He reproached the Junta, which has exclusive competence in housing matters, for the Government of Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla limiting itself to confronting the central government without implementing the approved measures or using the available funds.

In the case of Ronda, the councillor maintained that since the Popular Party has governed the municipality in 2011, no housing has been built, neither self-built nor social protection:

"zero houses built, zero self-built housing, and zero social housing. More than twelve years of government by Mari Paz Fernández without a new public housing promotion"

González also asked when the houses from the promotion announced in San Rafael will be available and how much they will cost.

The PSOE of Ronda calls on the Junta to promote protected housing developments for ownership and rental, and to ensure affordable prices and rental assistance. They demand that the Town Hall of Ronda expedite the projects under its jurisdiction and explore ways to mobilise vacant housing with guarantees for owners and tenants. They urge the central government to continue strengthening housing policies and demand collaboration from the Junta.

Finally, the councillor requested that all administrations provide specific deadlines, transparency, and results that the public can verify.
