The Ministry of Defence will not renew its contract with Palantir for the Gotham programme, which expires on November 30. The government wants Indra and Telefónica to take its place.

The Ministry of Defence will not renew the contract with Palantir to use the Gotham programme at the Armed Forces Intelligence Centre (CIFAS), according to ecosistemastartup.com. The agreement expires on November 30 and does not allow for an extension, so any continuity would require signing a new contract with the same company.

The relationship began in October 2023, when the Economic Affairs Department of the Defence Staff awarded the service through a negotiated procedure without publicity and with a single offer. The bidding amount was 16.5 million euros, and a subsequent update raised the bill to 19.5 million.

Palantir describes Gotham as a system that provides an attack chain based on artificial intelligence:

The programme integrates satellite images, drone video, radar traces, and intercepted communications into a single real-time map.

In early July, Moncloa asked companies owned by SEPI, including Telefónica, Indra, Navantia, and Correos, not to sign new contracts with Palantir. The order halted agreements with the Civil Guard and Navantia, although there was no official public positioning.

Indra presented IndraMind in October 2025 and expects this product to generate 1 billion euros by 2030. Telefónica showcased a command and control centre for emergencies, security, and defence at MWC Barcelona. For comparison, Palantir earned 1.935 billion dollars in just the second quarter of this year.

In Europe, at least 11 countries have contracts with Palantir in defence, intelligence, health, or customs, with a known volume of around 264 million euros. France announced in June that the DGSI will replace Palantir with the French company ChapsVision, with a migration that will last up to two years.
