Emilio Baena, former Treasury official, has resigned from his permanent position to advise individuals and businesses. He explains that his job did not allow him to develop his full potential.
According to El Periódico, Emilio Baena, former Treasury official, has left his permanent position to dedicate himself to advising individuals, families, and businesses on their tax obligations and dealings with the Administration.
Before taking the step, his idea was to request a leave of absence and travel. However, he explains that he did not feel he was helping people:
“I didn’t feel like I was giving it my all, I didn’t feel like I was helping people.”
Despite having a permanent position, he considered that his job did not allow him to develop his full potential. That is why he decided to leverage the experience gained in the Administration to embark on a new professional path.
“I was too comfortable. Stability is good until it becomes a gilded cage.”
Now he assists individuals, families, and businesses who need to understand their tax obligations and interact with the Administration. In this transition, the influence of Diego Moya, heritage architect, has been decisive, and he is grateful for his help in taking the step.
His case raises the question of how much the security of a public job compensates when personal satisfaction is lacking.
