The SEPE job and self-employment portal maintains active vacancies in several provinces, with online registration and no university degree required for most positions. The 2026 agri-food campaign drives new pools managed by the Red Cross, local councils, and YMCA.
The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) keeps its Job and Self-Employment Offers portal operational, a showcase where collaborating entities such as Red Cross Employment, YMCA, local councils, and regional services publish vacancies spread throughout Spain. Registration is entirely handled online, and a university degree is not required for most positions, according to merca2.es.
The trigger for the reactivation is the 2026 agri-food campaign. Red Cross Badajoz has opened new pools through the projects DESAFÍO +45 PLUS and ACTIVANDO EMPLEA-HABILIDAD, aimed at unemployed individuals in socially disadvantaged situations residing in Badajoz city or its districts. The profiles sought include personnel for agri-food industrial campaigns, drivers with category C and CAP licenses, and forklift operators with proven experience.
Registration for this call remains open and is attended to in person at the Employment department of the Red Cross, located at Calle Museo number 5 in Badajoz, from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 14:00 hours. Contact can also be made via email at n.cabanillas@cruzroja.es and jacedo@cruzroja.es indicating the desired position.
Most of these positions are filled through direct mediation with the company, so the sooner the CV arrives, the more chances there are of making it to the first cut of candidates.
In Mérida, the same entity maintains a pool with preferential access for young people aged 16 to 29 registered in Youth Guarantee. Available positions include waiter, kitchen assistant, warehouse worker, package delivery driver, factory operator, and housekeeper. The entity provides support in CV preparation and interview preparation. Applications can be sent to carmen.rollan@cruzroja.es or mariapiedad.cerezo@cruzroja.es with the subject of the desired position.
The Cáceres City Council publishes its own list through the Youth Department. The list includes positions ranging from sales assistant and real estate commercial advisor to physiotherapist, IT teacher, or automotive workshop manager. It includes two nursing positions in Madrigal de la Vera, three legal technicians in Badajoz, and 90 aerospace engineering positions nationwide.
For young people who are neither studying nor working, YMCA Badajoz develops the Employment 5G program, a flexible itinerary for Youth Guarantee beneficiaries aged 16 to 29 that combines workshops, talks with professionals, company visits, and participation in real selection processes.
Those who prefer to start their own business have another avenue. The SEXPE and UATAE Extremadura offer free training and advice for migrants who want to start or consolidate their activity as self-employed workers.
The SEPE does not hire: it acts as a showcase for pools managed by collaborating entities, and it is these entities that pre-select and present candidates to companies. The process is free and includes guidance, CV review, and interview preparation, but the applicant does not negotiate their conditions directly with the employer.
Many of these vacancies are temporary and linked to specific campaigns, such as the agri-food one. The hospitality and agricultural agreements are among the lowest in the Spanish market. It is also advisable to monitor availability: rotating shifts, weekends, and provincial travel are common requirements that do not always appear in the headline.
To consult the offers, you must access the SEPE portal at sepe.es and filter by province. Each pool is managed separately, so it is advisable to check which corresponds to the profile and province before taking the step. The pools are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and the first cut of candidates usually closes within a few days.
