The young entrepreneurs from Madrid Iván Barrasa and Jorge Branger have been selected to represent Spain in 'Launchpad', an international entrepreneurs' competition held in New York from October 4 to 19, 2026. The information, reported by infonegocios.madrid, details that 30 teams from around the world are participating, organised by John Hu and Vitalii along with their company Stan.

The format is knockout: over the two weeks, teams face challenges that could eliminate them and send them home. Only five will reach the final, which takes place on October 19, with a prize of 100,000 dollars in cash and up to one million dollars in investment.

The challenge for the two Spaniards is to build their project from scratch in that time and ensure it generates revenue. It is called 'Amancio', an AI sales team for LinkedIn, and they have named it in honour of Amancio Ortega.

"Here they tell us we are the team with the most energy. With the flag, the trumpet, and the enthusiasm we bring, it doesn’t surprise us," says Iván Barrasa. "Our Canadian mentor Jonathan is slowly catching the Spanish energy."

Jorge Branger is clear from the start: "We are Spanish, what do you want us to win? Spain wins in sports: the football team in the last World Cup, Ilia Topuria in the UFC, Arturo Coello in padel, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz in tennis, Fernando Alonso in Formula 1 among others... We come to add business to that list."

With the flag, the trumpet, and plenty of energy, the two Madrileños face the remaining challenges in New York. The goal is to reach the final, which takes place on October 19, and return home with the story they came to write.
