The bank extends its strategic agreement with Google Cloud until 2033 and incorporates Gemini Enterprise to create AI agents that automate internal tasks and personalise products for over 13 million digital customers.

CaixaBank and Google Cloud are extending their technological alliance until 2033, as announced by the entity. The agreement, which builds on the collaboration initiated in 2023, incorporates generative artificial intelligence capabilities, advanced data analytics, hybrid infrastructure, and security to accelerate the bank's technological transformation.

The core of the new contract is the deployment of Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud's platform for creating, governing, and implementing AI agents. These agents will enable CaixaBank teams to synthesise complex financial information, automate routine tasks, and organise daily workflows.

The collaboration is structured around three areas. In data analytics and agent-based AI, the bank will convert large information repositories into useful data through agents specialised in document management, content classification, and summarisation. In infrastructure, it will combine its private environment with Google Cloud's cloud to enhance the resilience, scalability, and availability of systems, and will incorporate advanced threat detection and security monitoring under its governance and responsible AI frameworks. The third pillar is team training, with professional services, collaboration initiatives, and courses to adopt new technological capabilities.

CaixaBank has over 13 million digital customers in Spain, the largest base in the Spanish financial sector, and the entity positions innovation as one of its strategic pillars to develop products and services, improve user experience, and gain operational efficiency.

Google Cloud, for its part, offers AI infrastructure, models like Gemini, data management, and multicloud security solutions to clients in over 200 countries and territories.

The agreement extends the collaboration between both companies for the next seven years, until 2033, with the aim of accelerating CaixaBank's adoption of cloud and AI technologies in its business model.
