Self-employed transport workers aged 63 or older leaving the industry have until 23:59 on October 19, 2026, to submit the documentation for the aid, which is endowed with €9.6 million.

The deadline for submitting the documentation for aid to self-employed road transport workers leaving the activity ends at 23:59 on October 19, 2026. The call has a budget of €9.6 million and is managed by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, according to information published by cronista.com.

The grant resolution is signed as of August 26 and was published in the BOE on September 1, along with the list of beneficiaries. The aid is part of the measures the Government is promoting for the sector, such as early retirement for professional drivers.

Self-employed individuals aged at least 63 years can apply. Those with recognised total permanent disability, absolute disability, or severe disability can apply without meeting the age requirement. According to Order FOM/3218/2009, the applicant must have held a public transport authorisation for the last ten years, have been registered in the RETA during that period, and be up to date with tax and social security obligations. In return, they commit to renouncing their authorisations and not returning to the activity.

Applications compete for a limited budget, and age is a priority: the older the applicant, the higher the score. In the 2026 resolution, all beneficiaries received the amount for renouncing the authorisation, and none met the conditions for the additional modality, which is calculated for each semester remaining until reaching 65 years. In previous calls, the amount for authorisation was €30,000.

Some applications were excluded due to budget exhaustion, and others for not meeting the requirements. Those who disagree can file a restitution appeal within one month or an administrative contentious appeal before the National Court within two months, counted from September 1.
