The Andalucía Aerospace cluster has incorporated Albor Space, Hisperion, OLMA Space, and YNSAT, all incubated at ESA BIC Andalucía. With these additions, the association now exceeds 110 members.
The cluster Andalucía Aerospace has added four new space companies to its list of members: Albor Space, Hisperion, OLMA Space, and YNSAT. The incorporation was formalised during the Space Commission of the cluster, held at the headquarters of ESA BIC Andalucía in Seville, as part of World Space Week (October 4-10), according to ecosistemastartup.com. With these additions, the group now has over 110 members.
The four companies share a common trait: they are being incubated at the only centre of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Andalucía. This programme offers up to €60,000 in non-repayable funding, 80 hours of technical-business mentoring, and direct access to the European ESA BIC network, which includes more than 30 incubation centres, according to data published by the incubator itself.
Each covers a different link in the space value chain. OLMA Space works in engineering and surface treatments for space hardware, focusing on thermal control using technologies such as femtosecond laser texturing and inorganic black anodising. Hisperion Aerospace, based in Seville, develops Orbita, a software platform based on models to design and validate guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems for satellites in a single closed-loop simulation environment.
Albor Space, a spin-off from the University of Málaga, focuses on satellite communications and non-terrestrial 5G (NTN) networks, using software-defined radio technology to emulate satellite channels and test 5G NTN terminals in controlled environments. Meanwhile, YNSAT provides geospatial intelligence for the mining and environmental sectors: its SaaS suite combines radar SAR/InSAR and optical Earth observation data with artificial intelligence, proprietary instrument data, and drone data, along with automated report generation in the cloud.
"From the cluster, we want to support these companies in their growth, facilitating their connection with leading companies, technological centres, universities, and administrations," said Juan Román, managing director of Andalucía Aerospace.
The ESA BIC Andalucía programme is managed by CATEC (Advanced Aerospace Technologies Centre) and is supported by the Spanish Space Agency (AEE), the Andalusian Government, and the Seville City Council. Its facilities are located in the Renfe warehouses in the Seville neighbourhood of San Jerónimo.
The four new additions are part of the first cohort of six incubated startups, which also includes OBA – Orbital Boost Aerospace (orbital logistics and deorbiting) and Graniot (satellite analysis for agriculture and infrastructure monitoring). The companies come from Seville, Málaga, Granada, and the Basque Country, covering both the upstream segment (space technologies) and downstream (terrestrial applications with satellite data).
The Spanish space sector generated €1.416 billion in 2025, a 9.5% increase from 2024, according to the economic impact report by Tedae prepared by PwC. The civil space sector contributed €1.241 billion and the defence sector €175 million, with a growth of 16.6% in the latter segment. The export intensity of the sector reaches 82.4% of revenue, the highest percentage among the analysed subsectors. Andalucía is the second autonomous community with the greatest weight in defence, aerospace, and space, with €3.135 billion generated in 2025 (17% of the national total), only behind Madrid.
The second call for ESA BIC Andalucía remains open until October 30, 2026, as confirmed by the incubator when presenting the first promotion.
