In the ninth edition of VDS, held in Valencia, a shared semiconductor roadmap for the Valencian Community was presented, aimed at the European Chips Act 2.0 strategy.

The second day of the ninth edition of VDS, held at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, served to present a Valencian semiconductor roadmap and the contributions of the Valencian Generalitat to the European Chips Act 2.0 strategy.

According to Última Hora, the event has brought together for the second consecutive day more than 12,000 professionals from over 120 countries, 3,000 startups and scaleups, 1,500 corporations, more than 800 investors managing assets worth over 300 billion euros, and more than 600 speakers.

The initiative brings together the Valencian Generalitat, Valencia Silicon Cluster, the Valencia City Council, Valencia Innovation Capital, the University of Valencia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Startup Valencia, AVIA, Espai Aero, Cluster Digital, and Plug and Play, among other stakeholders. The aim is to attract new projects, strengthen Valencian participation in the European semiconductor industry, and turn the scientific and industrial knowledge of the community into a competitive advantage for its companies.

On the Main Stage, during the session “Why Valencia? An International Advisory Board for a Global Ambition”, moderated by Juan Luis Hortelano, president of Startup Valencia, the International Advisory Board of the entity was announced. It includes Ann Hiatt, Laura Urquizu, CEO and president of Red Points, and Christian Teichmann, CEO of Burda Principal Investments, with the aim of connecting the Valencian industry with the main innovation and investment centres in the world.

The day featured a visit from Infanta Elena de Borbón and representatives from the Government and the Generalitat, including Jordi García Brustenga, Secretary of State for Industry, and José Antonio Rovira, Councillor for Economy, Finance and Public Administration. The Startup Valencia Startup Observatory, the BIGBAN Investors Investment Observatory, and the LAB R&D+i Observatory, developed by Ivie with the LAB Mediterranean Foundation, were also presented.

Additionally, the new Federation Comunitat Startup was announced, which groups together the entrepreneurial communities of the three Valencian provinces along with Startup Valencia, XarxaTEC, and Alicantec. The Main Stage sessions also addressed artificial intelligence, the convergence between traditional finance and blockchain, featuring speakers such as César Azpilicueta, Spanish footballer, and Dmytro Voloshyn, co-founder and CTO of Preply.
