Hacienda opposes Víctor de Aldama selling his high-end cars in the VAT fraud case. The Ferrari F12 goes to auction with a starting price of €241,613.

The Tax Agency opposes Víctor de Aldama personally selling his high-end vehicles, according to elDiario.es, which has accessed the document the agency submitted to the court. Aldama is charged with a multi-million euro VAT fraud in the hydrocarbons sector, and Hacienda is the main victim.

In August, the businessman asked Judge Santiago Pedraz to handle the sale of his cars himself, including a Ferrari F12 collector's item, because he distrusts an official auction. Hacienda considers the proposal to be vague:

“generic and without objective corroboration”

The agency points out that the request does not include a specific purchase offer for a higher amount or other data justifying it as an alternative to the Asset Recovery and Management Office (ORGA).

Hacienda reminds that the Ministry of Justice will hold an electronic auction through the State Agency Official Bulletin Auction Portal. Anyone who meets the requirements can participate, and the final price does not have to match the starting price, as it depends on the bids.

ORGA is organising the auction of several of Aldama's vehicles because their maintenance costs money to the public treasury and they may lose value by remaining too long in judicial deposits. The sale will help cover potential future fines and compensations.

Following an appraisal by the appraiser Tinsa, ORGA sets the starting price of the Ferrari at €241,613. The model was registered in 2013 and has not passed the ITV since 2024. Additionally, three Land Rover SUVs will be auctioned with a combined valuation of €200,000.

In May 2025, Aldama's defence requested the judge not to authorise these auctions, considering they violated his presumption of innocence, and that the vehicles should be kept safe and in good condition.
