The Chinese brand AVATR, created by Changan, arrives in Spain with six models by 2029 and sales starting in the first half of 2027.
The Chinese brand AVATR is preparing its entry into Spain, according to Motor16. The manufacturer plans to launch six models in Europe by 2029 and begin selling in our country during the first half of 2027. Spain and Norway will be its first European markets.
AVATR is already negotiating with distributors to create its own commercial and after-sales network, separate from the one Changan operates in Spain with models like the Deepal S05. According to the manufacturer itself, the first dealerships will start to be announced in the coming weeks. The brand presented its European project at the Paris Motor Show.
The range will combine plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and pure electric vehicles (BEV). High-performance variants will reach powers close to 1,000 horsepower and combined ranges exceeding 1,000 kilometres, figures that are still pending European homologation.
The first two models to hit the streets are the AVATR 06T, a sedan with a Shooting Brake body, and the AVATR 07L, a large family-oriented SUV. Both share the same electrified mechanical base. The brand also showcased the T09 prototype in Paris, a luxury SUV aimed at the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, with no price for Spain yet.
AVATR thus competes with premium brands such as Mercedes, Audi, and BMW, and it is not the only Chinese brand with this strategy. For those looking for a premium SUV or sedan, the arrival adds an alternative, but it is advisable to check before buying that there is a network of workshops nearby, that the warranty covers the expected duration of ownership, and that spare parts are available. The brand still lacks established dealerships and a service history in Europe.
