Digi Spain Telecom will show the notice 'Commercial Call' on its customers' mobile phones from this Saturday when they receive calls from numbers starting with 400. This measure responds to the obligation to identify commercial calls with that prefix.

According to pressdigital.es, Digi Spain Telecom, the Spanish subsidiary of the Romanian group Digi Communications, will start displaying the notice 'Commercial Call' on the mobile screens of its customers when they receive calls from numbers beginning with 400.

The 400 prefix is the one authorised by Spanish regulations for commercial calls directed at end users. This requirement comes from the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function, which since 17 October has mandated that companies making such communications identify themselves with numbers of that prefix.

With the 'Commercial Call' label, we take another step to provide our customers with more information and control over the communications they receive.

The company will also apply this measure to its own commercial calls, for example when a customer or interested party requests that the operator contact them via the 'We call you' button on its website. The most common numbers from which they will call will be 400 120 120, 400 120 122, 400 120 131, and 400 120 134, and the label 'Digi' will appear on the screen.

Digi reminds that it already shows the notice 'Possible spam' for unwanted or malicious calls. Additionally, it states that it has blocked more than 4.5 million fraudulent communications before they reached its customers' phones, in accordance with the ministerial order against impersonation scams.
