Enagás and Redeia achieve the Top 1% in S&P Global's 2026 Sustainability Yearbook. Thirteen other Spanish companies earn Top 5% and Top 10% distinctions.
Fifteen Spanish companies appear in the Sustainability Yearbook 2026 from S&P Global with Top 1%, Top 5%, or Top 10% distinctions, according to the rating agency. The yearbook evaluates the sustainability performance of companies within their respective industries based on the results of the 2025 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
The methodology analyses environmental, social, and corporate governance areas with criteria tailored to each sector. The evaluation results are supplemented by eligibility criteria and exclusion filters for certain activities and controversies.
Within the yearbook, S&P Global awards the Top 1%, Top 5%, and Top 10% distinctions based on how close each company's score is to that of the industry leader and their compliance with minimum thresholds. In Spain, Enagás and Redeia have received the highest distinction, the Top 1%.
In the next level, the Top 5%, are Acciona, Amadeus IT Group, Endesa, Indra, and Mapfre. Completing the Spanish representation in the Top 10% are Banco Sabadell, CaixaBank, Fluidra, Grifols, Iberdrola, Merlin Properties, Moeve, and Meliá Hotels International.
The fifteen companies are spread across the energy, infrastructure, financial services, technology, industry, tourism, biotechnology, and real estate sectors. The energy and energy infrastructure sectors account for the largest number of recognitions.
In addition to the fifteen companies with Top 10% or higher distinctions, another eighteen Spanish companies are included in the Sustainability Yearbook 2026 as members. Among them are ACS, Acerinox, Aena, Atresmedia, Bankinter, Cellnex Telecom, Cirsa, CAF, Diverxia Infraestructuras, EDP Renewables, Gestamp, Inditex, Línea Directa, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, Prosegur Cash, Sacyr, Telefónica, and Técnicas Reunidas.
