Movistar Prosegur Alarmas reaches 650,000 connections in Spain in October, a 30% increase since 2024. The company has tripled its portfolio since its launch in 2020 and presents a smart lock.
The joint venture of Telefónica and Prosegur has reached 650,000 connections in Spain in October, representing a 30% growth in its customer base since 2024 and tripling its portfolio since its launch in March 2020, according to Libertad Digital. The company presented these results this Wednesday in Madrid, at an event where it also announced the launch of a new smart lock integrated with its alarm system.
The CEO of Movistar Prosegur Alarmas, Diego Torrico, highlighted that with this volume of customers, the company has become the tenth largest connected security company in the world by number of connections. He also revealed that this year has been the first in which the company has achieved "positive cash flow".
"There are six million households that could seriously consider reinforcing their security in the coming years"
Torrico stated that the goal is to continue growing in a national market where there are still "six million households that could seriously consider reinforcing their security in the coming years".
During his speech, the executive indicated that the Spanish alarm market has surpassed 3.5 million connections after incorporating around 1.2 million customers in recent years, and placed the penetration of these systems at around 12% of households and businesses. He added that Spain is currently the European market with the highest volume of connected alarms.
The main reasons for hiring an alarm are the search for peace of mind, fear of theft, and concern about home occupation, Torrico noted.
For his part, the commercial director of Movistar Prosegur Alarmas, Fernando Saldaña, presented a new smart lock connected to the company's alarm system. The device allows control of the opening and closing of the door from a mobile phone, creates temporary access for third parties, and detects possible tampering attempts thanks to its integration with the Alarm Receiving Centre.
"It aims to add an additional layer of security to the home and facilitate access management for users"
Saldaña stated that the new solution "aims to add an additional layer of security to the home and facilitate access management for users".
The company has not specified the marketing date or the price of the new smart lock.
