The XV Valladolid March Against Cancer exceeded expectations with 55,032 participants. The funds raised will go towards the seven AECC Valladolid Doctoral Grants.

According to La Nueva Crónica, the XV Valladolid March Against Cancer brought together 55,032 participants this Sunday in the gardens of El Campo Grande, in an edition that the organisation describes as surpassing all expectations. The event traversed the most central streets of the city.

The march is primarily sponsored by Iberdrola, which has collaborated for the eleventh consecutive year with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). The funds raised this year will be allocated to the seven AECC Valladolid Doctoral Grants.

Among the authorities and officials supporting the event were the president of the AECC in Valladolid, Artemio Domínguez, the mayor of the city, Jesús Julio Carnero, the president of the Valladolid Provincial Council, Conrado Íscar, and the commercial director of Iberdrola in Castilla and León, Tomás Nistal. The researcher Beatriz Gutiérrez, a beneficiary of the AECC Doctoral Grant 2026, also attended.

“Supporting initiatives like Valladolid March Against Cancer means contributing to improving people's lives, promoting research, and supporting those who need it most.”

Nistal highlighted the solidarity response of the people of Valladolid and recalled that the collaboration is part of the research and awareness agreement that both entities have maintained since 2015.

Within that agreement, Iberdrola promotes the project Together Against Cancer, through which its customers can collaborate with the AECC, and the company commits to doubling the amount they donate each month via their bill. The company has added a new option in its loyalty program My Iberdrola, which will allow customers to donate their accumulated balance to the AECC.
