Votorantim Cimentos Spain receives the ImPULSO award from the Spanish Heart Federation for its Construyendo Bienestar programme, which reduces the cardiovascular risk of its workforce with an 88% positive rating.
The cement company Votorantim Cimentos Spain has been awarded the ImPULSO prize by the Spanish Heart Federation (FEC) for its programme promoting healthy habits among employees, as reported by bierzotv.com. The jury particularly valued the trajectory of the Construyendo Bienestar initiative, which has been running for over a decade.
The programme is structured around four pillars: physical, emotional, social well-being, and a healthy work environment. It includes physical activity campaigns such as CorazónVC to combat sedentary lifestyles, nutrition workshops with fresh fruit at the facilities, nutritional advice, smoking prevention programmes, vaccination campaigns, and screenings for breast, colon, or prostate cancer.
In the emotional realm, the company develops ReConecta, an initiative focused on digital hyperconnectivity and the healthy use of technology. Additionally, a network of 19 volunteers acts as a link between the health team and the various company facilities in Spain, allowing actions to be tailored to each centre and maintaining two-way communication.
These promoters have also participated in creating the training capsules “Your minute of well-being”, brief content on physical activity, smoking, prostate cancer, or fatty liver.
The results of the programme were decisive for the jury's decision: 88% of the workforce positively values its impact on work experience and the adoption of healthy habits.
