The VI Pact for the Social Economy of Murcia has generated 3,323 jobs since 2025, more than half of the 6,000 expected by 2028. The plan has a budget of 55 million euros, more than double that of the previous strategy.

The Region of Murcia has created 3,323 jobs linked to the VI Pact for the Social Economy since its launch in 2025, according to data released this Tuesday by the regional government. This figure exceeds half of the target of 6,000 jobs set for the horizon of 2028.

The Minister of Business, Employment and Social Economy, Luis Alberto Marín, presented these results in Brussels, at a meeting held during the European Week of Cities and Regions, as reported by la7tv.es. The plan is endowed with 55 million euros, more than double the budget of the previous strategy, which covered the period 2021-2024.

The territory currently has more than 2,500 social economy companies employing over 100,000 people. In the last year, 87 new companies of this type have been established, while in the last decade the figure approaches 1,700.

The VI Pact includes around a hundred measures to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector, promote business succession, and facilitate public procurement. According to the regional government, more than 80% of these actions have already been launched or executed.

During his speech, Marín requested greater clarity on funding possibilities for social economy companies through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

"We need medium-sized regions like Murcia to participate in European platforms for exchanging experiences and best practices"

The minister also called for medium-sized regions like Murcia to be part of European platforms for exchanging experiences and best practices.

The Pact for the Social Economy remains in effect until 2028, when the achievement of the 6,000 job target will be evaluated.
