Albert Vergés, previously Operations Director, replaces Pepe Talavera as CEO. Talavera, founder and majority shareholder, becomes Executive Chairman.

Mundimoto has appointed Albert Vergés as the new CEO of the company, as reported by elespanol.com. Vergés, who previously held the position of Operations Director, takes over from Pepe Talavera, the founder of the company, who has held the position since its inception in 2019.

Talavera, who remains the majority shareholder, will now serve as the new Executive Chairman of the Catalan multinational, where he will lead the business strategy. Vergés has spent over four years as Operations Director, during which he has participated in the digitalisation and optimisation of the company’s operational model and in enhancing the customer experience.

“Our priority is clear: to continue growing the rental business, strengthen Italy as a strategic market, and prepare for new expansions, with the aim of consolidating ourselves as the leader in the two-wheeler sector,” Vergés has stated.

The changes at the top come after Mundimoto closed a €4 million capital increase with its main shareholders, which include Mutua Madrileña, Orilla Asset Management (the family holding of Francisco J. Riberas, Executive Chairman of Gestamp), Pablo Isla, whose first investment in a startup was in this company, and Endeavor.

The Catalan startup also counts on Autotech Ventures, P101, the Israeli fund Maniv Mobility, and Ok Ventures, the venture capital division of the OK group, led by Othman Ktiri. The capital increase was accompanied by a €40 million debt refinancing with Santander, BBVA, CaixaBank, and Banco Sabadell.

Mundimoto is engaged in the online buying and selling and renting of new and used motorcycles. The company maintains renting as its main growth lever and has identified Italy as a strategic market.
