The second dividend payment from Inditex raises to €3.234 billion what the founder of the group will receive in 2026, surpassing the €3.104 billion from the previous year.

The receipt of €1.617 billion in the second dividend payment from Inditex will raise to €3.234 billion what the founder of the textile group earns this year, as reported by elconciso.es. This figure exceeds the €3.104 billion he received in the previous fiscal year.

The money will come through Pontegadea Inversiones and Partler, the two companies through which he controls 59.294% of Inditex's capital. This stake equates to 1.848 billion shares.

The company will distribute over €5.454 billion among its shareholders this year. It raises the dividend by 4.1%, to €1.75 per share, after achieving a record profit of €6.220 billion in 2025, a 6% increase.

The dividend policy combines an ordinary payment equivalent to 60% of the profit with extraordinary distributions. The 2026 payout has been split into two equal payments of €0.875 per share. The first, entirely ordinary, was paid on May 4. The second, which is being paid this Monday, consists of €0.325 ordinary and €0.550 extraordinary.

Ortega allocates part of this income to expand his real estate business, focused on the purchase and management of large buildings, mainly offices and other non-residential assets. The portfolio is located in the centers of major cities in Spain, the UK, the United States, and Asia.

The payout also extends to Sandra Ortega, the founder's daughter and the second-largest shareholder of the group, with 5.053% of the capital, that is, 157.48 million shares. She will receive over €275 million in dividends this year, compared to €264 million from the previous fiscal year, with half of that amount corresponding to the second payment being made this Monday.
