According to agronewscastillayleon.com, Aragón is the autonomous community with the most awards in the 33rd edition of the Porc d'Or Awards 2026, with 13 prizes. Galicia has achieved 11 recognitions and Catalonia, 7. The three communities account for 31 of the awards presented.
The gala took place on 30 October 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Galicia, in Santiago de Compostela, and brought together more than 650 professionals from the Spanish pig sector, including farmers, veterinarians, researchers, technicians, and company representatives. The awards, organised by the Institute of Research and Technology for Food (IRTA), recognise the best productive results, animal health, sustainability, and good farming practices.
This edition featured 89 nominated farms and 118 technical-productive candidacies, in addition to the finalist farms for the three special awards. Galicia, which had led the awards in 2025 with 16 recognitions, ceded the top spot to Aragón, although it was the host community and held the awards ceremony for the first time for the white coat awards.
The Porc d'Or with Diamond has been awarded to Granja Pellicer, belonging to Vall Companys Grup and located in Valderrobres (Teruel). The jury valued its balanced reproductive results, the longevity of its sows, and the management of animals in the different productive phases, as well as the measures for animal welfare and actions to reduce mortality during lactation and after weaning.
Castilla y León achieved three technical-productive Gold awards, corresponding to farms in Zamora, Salamanca, and Burgos. In Zamora, the farm Agropecuaria Ferrero Pérez S.C., linked to Agrocesa Grupo Vall Companys and located in Quiruelas de Vidriales, won Gold in litter rate in the category of 501 to 1,000 breeders. In Salamanca, Expordi, from Explotaciones Porcinas Díaz, in Valdelosa, received Gold in longevity in the same category. In Burgos, Granja Romaniega won Gold in litter rate.
