The one-day Euribor rises by 0.017 points to 3.194%, while the monthly average for October remains at 3.237%. The mortgage reference has now been above 3.2% for two months.
The daily rate of the euribor closed on Wednesday, 7 October 2026 at 3.194%, which represents an increase of 0.017 points compared to the previous day, according to elmundo.es. This indicator breaks the downward trend observed in recent sessions.
The monthly average for October stands at 3.237%, a level very similar to September's (3.238%) and well above the figures recorded in August (2.954%) and July (2.855%).
In the last week, the Euribor has fluctuated between 3.379% on 25 September and 3.177% on 6 October, with an intermediate high of 3.356% on 29 September. The general trend points to a gradual moderation, but today's figure introduces an upward correction.
"The daily Euribor is calculated every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 11:00 hours. In Spain, it is publicly announced in the Official State Bulletin"
This movement has a direct effect on variable-rate mortgages that are reviewed with the Euribor. An increase of two hundredths in the daily rate does not significantly alter the monthly payment, but it consolidates a floor above 3.2%, moving away from the lows of 2025, when the monthly average reached 2.079% in July.
For holders of variable-rate mortgage loans, the semi-annual or annual review that uses October's average as a reference will be calculated with a provisional value of 3.237%, pending the month's closure. The next update of the daily rate will be known tomorrow, Thursday, 8 October, at 11:00 hours.
