CaixaBank expands its alliance with Palo Alto Networks in a multi-year agreement that extends until 2030. The plan is part of the group's Strategic Plan, which allocates 5 billion euros for technological transformation and operational resilience.
According to catalunyapress.es, CaixaBank has signed an extension of its strategic alliance with the American company Palo Alto Networks, in a multi-year agreement that will formally extend until 2030. The aim is to strengthen the protection of its customers and its operational infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
The initiative fits within the bank's Strategic Plan, which allocates a budget of 5 billion euros for technological transformation and operational resilience.
The entity notes that advanced artificial intelligence enables both more efficient processes and more automated and harder-to-detect attacks. To respond, the bank relies on the architecture of Palo Alto Networks, a California-based company listed on the Nasdaq with more than 20,000 employees, which integrates artificial intelligence into its real-time protection systems.
The agreement includes the creation of specialised working teams from both companies, dedicated to the research and development of new methodologies. Among their lines of work are testing environments where cyberattacks driven by algorithms will be simulated, to design countermeasures before threats reach real systems, and technical cooperation channels to continuously adapt the bank's tools.
With this commitment, CaixaBank seeks a flexible and modular security architecture that protects its transactional environment. The alliance will remain in place until 2030, according to the entity's own statement.
