The Tiepolo Award 2026 recognises Benito Tesier and Giovanni Ferrero for their contribution to economic relations between Spain and Italy. The award ceremony will take place on November 17 in Madrid.
The jury of the Tiepolo Award has decided to honour in its 29th edition Benito Tesier, managing director of Brembo Iberia, and Giovanni Ferrero, executive chairman of the Ferrero Group, as published by ceoe.es. This year, the award coincides with the 30th anniversary of its first edition, held in 1996, and acknowledges their contribution to strengthening economic and commercial ties between Spain and Italy.
According to the jury, Tesier has promoted the consolidation in the Iberian market of a leading company in technological innovation applied to the automotive sector. Ferrero, for his part, has established in Spain the European technological hub for ice cream production of the group.
The award ceremony will be held on November 17 at the Embassy of Italy in Madrid, with the presence of ambassador Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi and representatives from institutions and companies from both countries. The award is jointly granted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain (CCIS) and CEOE, under the auspices of the embassy.
Tesier has over 30 years of experience in the automotive sector. His career in Spain began in Molins de Rei (Barcelona) and was consolidated in Aragón following the agreement between the Bombassei and Tesier families. With the acquisition of J. Juan, a Spanish company specialised in braking systems for motorcycles, Brembo strengthened its presence in the two-wheeled segment. Previously, Tesier spent five years in Bergamo as Business Developer for brake discs. Since January 2026, he has been the president of CEOE Aragón, an organisation representing over 85,000 self-employed individuals, SMEs, and large companies in the community.
Giovanni Ferrero heads a group founded in 1946 in Alba (Piedmont), which will celebrate 80 years as a family business in 2026, with over 50,000 employees, a presence in more than 170 countries, and a turnover close to 20 billion euros. In Spain, Ferrero Ibérica, established in 1988 with its headquarters in Barcelona, employs 200 people in the Iberian Peninsula, spread between Cornellà de Llobregat and Lisbon. It markets brands such as Ferrero Rocher, Kinder, Nutella, and Raffaello. In 2021, the group acquired Ice Cream Factory Comaker (ICFC), with a production plant in Alzira (Valencia).
