The marginal interest on 15-year State Bonds rose to 4.101% in the auction on Thursday, November 5. Demand exceeded €11.335 billion, nearly double what was allocated.
According to noticiastrabajo.es, the Public Treasury raised the marginal interest on 15-year State Bonds to 4.101%, up from 3.817% in the previous auction. The operation took place on Thursday, November 5.
The Bank of Spain, which manages these issuances, has published the results. A total of €5.892.1 million in medium and long-term debt was placed, and requests exceeded €11.335 million, nearly double what was allocated. The bonds can be purchased from €1,000.
The other maturities behaved differently. Bonds with a residual life of four years and nine months rose from 2.949% to 3.345%, while those of 10 years fell from 4.181% to 3.807%. For the 15-year bonds, €1.569.78 million was allocated.
Eurozone inflation-linked bonds, with a residual life of seven years and one month, increased from 1.085% to 1.517% in marginal yield. This percentage does not equate to the money received each year: for the 15-year bonds, the annual coupon is 3.50%, meaning €35 gross for every €1,000 of nominal value. The final yield depends on the purchase price and holding the securities until maturity.
An investor with €10,000 nominal in these bonds would receive €350 gross per year, subject to taxation under IRPF. The price of the securities may rise or fall according to the market before maturity.
The previous Tuesday, the Treasury placed €6.423.5 million in bills for six and twelve months, with marginal yields of 2.845% and 3.068%, respectively.
