The chief economists of CaixaBank and Banco Sabadell foresee a resilient global economy in 2027, although they warn of geopolitical and inflationary risks. Enric Fernández estimates a growth of 2% for the Spanish GDP.
The chief economist of CaixaBank, Enric Fernández, predicts that the Spanish GDP will grow by 2% in 2027, six tenths lower than the 2.6% estimated for this year. The forecast was presented in Barcelona, as reported by Europa Press based on a statement from the Spanish Institute of Analysts.
The event, titled 'Financial Market Perspectives for 2027', was organized by the Catalan delegation of the Spanish Institute of Analysts. During it, Fernández argued that the global economy will maintain remarkable resilience in 2027 and may even grow more than this year.
The chief economist of Banco Sabadell, Sofía Rodríguez, highlighted the adaptability of economic agents, expansive fiscal policies, and the boost in investment linked to artificial intelligence. According to her, Spanish growth will be supported by domestic demand, driven by consumption and investment.
Fernández pointed out the main source of uncertainty as the crisis in the Middle East and its impact on prices. He also mentioned the fiscal situation in France and the evolution of the investment cycle in AI in the United States.
Rodríguez warned that the persistence of inflation and subsequent needs increase the vulnerability of economies and markets to potential disruptions:
"high public and private financing needs"
