The consultancy Cadabit, based in Gijón, has won the award for best startup in the third edition of the Banco Sabadell Company of the Year Awards, as reported by ecosistemastartup.com. The company was founded in 2025 and has just surpassed its first year of activity.
In this category, the winner is not decided by a jury, but by reader voting. The awards are promoted by Banco Sabadell and Prensa Ibérica through their regional publications, which celebrated their third edition in 2026.
Cadabit helps organizations identify opportunities to automate processes and improve information management with artificial intelligence. Their work focuses more on the operational day-to-day of companies rather than advanced research.
Among their projects are a comprehensive stock management platform, an automated telephone assistance assistant, and a works and services calendar with predictive AI. All tackle tasks that many SMEs still manage using spreadsheets, email, or paper.
Miguel López, an economist and CEO of the firm, is at the helm. According to the company, the project was born from the idea that a useful, accessible AI tailored to the needs of businesses is possible.
Cadabit's accolades in its first year include the 2026 AJE Young Company of the Year Award, inclusion in the Top 100 Companies in Spain's Technological Parks 2026, victory in Venture On The Road Asturias 2025, finalist in SeedRocket Spain 2026, and finalist in Wayra 2026.
The Sabadell award was decided among the candidates from the Asturian edition, which has its own finalists. For companies operating outside Madrid and Barcelona, recognition comes from solving specific problems for other businesses rather than from a funding round.
