The Ibex 35 fell by 1.35% and remained below 19,000 points, with Banco Santander and Acciona as the main burdens. Investors are awaiting the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision scheduled for this afternoon.

According to merca2.es, the Ibex 35 deepened its decline to 1.35% by mid-session, with the index at 18,902.6 points. The selective index thus lost the 19,000 point level and approached 18,900.

The largest declines were attributed to Banco Santander, which fell 4% after publishing its results, and Acciona, which dropped 4.52% due to waning interest from funds in its energy subsidiary. Acciona Energía fell 4.45%.

Analysts expect that the Federal Reserve will not change interest rates in the meeting scheduled for this afternoon. The entity raised the benchmark rate at its last meeting, the first increase in over three years, and consensus anticipates another hike before the year ends.

The main European markets were also trading in negative territory. Paris fell 0.13%, Frankfurt 0.06%, London 0.26%, and Milan 0.15%.

In fixed income, the Spanish ten-year bond rose to 4.009%, compared to 3.997% at Tuesday's close, and the risk premium stood at 64.3 basis points. Brent was trading at $114.97 per barrel (+0.96%) and West Texas Intermediate at $101.53 (+1.63%). The euro was quoted at $1.1125.

The accounts published this morning showed widespread growth. Banco Santander earned €11.176 billion in the first nine months of the year, a 16.1% increase, according to the relevant fact submitted to the CNMV. Endesa reported €1.962 billion (+14.7%) and confirmed its forecast to exceed €2.4 billion in ordinary net profit by year-end. Aena earned €1.796 billion (+10.8%), Redeia reached €410.3 million (+5.3%), and Línea Directa increased its profit by 34.8%, to €80.4 million.

Not all companies experienced growth. The operating profit of Ferrovial fell 12%, to €848 million, compared to €966 million in the same period last year, due to capital gains from asset sales recorded then. Vidrala earned €173.4 million (+6.4%).

On the positive side, only Solaria (+0.45%) and Fluidra (+0.11%) closed the mid-session in the green, while Redeia and Unicaja remained unchanged. The Federal Reserve's decision will be announced this afternoon.
